Extinction

The world was ending the sun was engulfing the earth and the only humans left had to live under ultraviolet sun blocking glass shelters. The last hope was a project of ten city sized spacecraft made from the absolute last of the natural resources they could mine from the earth and neighbouring planets. The idea was to blast off to the ten most probable planets found that could support life. A risky venture but with nothing to lose a calculated one!
The main problems were distance, fuel and piloting of the craft. All of these factors were carefully considered by the top brains of planet earth - computer simulaters! Distance being the major problem when trying to fathom the immeasurable quantity of space was a non entity really no matter how fast a spacecraft could go it would still take too long to get there. You could set a craft off manned by humans but after 900 generations supplies would be exhausted and the computer simulations of evolution indicated are bodies would turn into a type of space jelly unable to cope with any type of planetry gravity!
So the answer was to build robots, androids and computer software which/who would serve as leaders, pilots, parents and teachers. This eclectic bunch of technological wizardry would then be installed on each spacecraft as human farmers. Super genious human clones were made each selected for there skills in surviving thier respective new worlds. These clones were chryogenicaly frozen in stasis until each spacecraft had neared it's destined planet. As each craft approached it's planet the robot's would wake the clones and act as parent's. As the clones grew up they would be taught everything from the history of the earth, science to the necessary terra forming skills they would need to form a self sufficent infrastructure for their new world! One out of ten spacecraft made it all the rest had been destroyed by meteorites and other random universal acts of god! The spacecraft landed on its newly named planet called 'Vanilla VKZ'.The robots had instructed the clones to stay on the ship and not to venture into the new world until their training was complete. Most agreed with this command but some of the clones - being still in their early twentys were becoming rebellious. This was the fatal error of the robots to trust the clones as what inevitably happened next insured the extinction of the human species.
